Big day for Anna today. She had her spring piano recital in front of friends and family in an old church. She played hard and played well and was beaming with pride afterwards.

Monte Carlo Here We Come....
I am off this beautiful warm Mediterranean morning to meet Sam and drive on to Monaco. He is on his way back from Oman as I write.... Of course his plane is delayed. He was diverted in flight to Istanbul. Some poor man had a heart attack during the flight! Don't these things always happen when you have a date to keep! We are meeting in Genoa and driving off to Monte Carlo for a nice lunch and relaxing day by a hotel pool, a beach, a cafe, what ever.Click here if you want to see the romantic hotel we will be staying at... Maybe this go around I will actually convince Sam to take me to the Casino. I still cannot believe that of all the times I have been in Monaco, I have never gone to the Casino!? I had better pack something nice just in case....
The girls? They get to stay in Chiavari and go to the beach with my dear Marie. We will be home tomorrow evening. Saturday we are off to Santo Stefano d'Aveto with the girls and Virginia in tow. We are spending the day with a big group of our friends from Chiavari. Santo Stefano is a sort of refuge for the Chiavarese. It is way up in the mountains behind us. It seems all of Chiavari goes there as soon as the beaches get over run by the Milanese and temps are too much. See more here Again, after 5 years this my first time going! It is like when I lived in NY. I was there my entire life, when I moved, I realized I had never been to the Statue of Liberty! I had seen it but never climbed inside! Isn't life like that? You never see what is waiting for you when it is right there for the taking.
Sunday Anna Banana will play the Piana at make her public debut. She has her recital in the afternoon and practice in the morning. I do say our day will be consumed by her experience. I will be sure to blog her performance.
Sarah....Well she is still whining that she hasn't seen Star Wars Episode III! She is most upset that Anna saw it and she hasn't and Anna told her the entire story! Like there were any surprises anyway. We all know how it ends. Hopefully we will rectify that this weekend. Though I am not sitting through the movie again! Once in Italian is enough, I will wait until I get to NY to suffer it again. At least I can understand the dialog! Did I mention I have my tickets to NY? I leave on the 23rd of June!
